Volunteer at the Farm

The Pantry Volunteer Process

1. Submit the volunteer form on this page

Fill in your basic information along with your interests so we can best fit with you with a volunteer opportunity.

2. Martha’s will contact you

Within a few days of submitting the form, a Martha’s team member will reach out to you to say hello and to schedule an orientation and tour

3. Attend orientation & tour

Depending on your volunteer area, you will receive an on-site orientation and tour to acclimate before your first volunteer session.

4. Start volunteering

You’re now ready to go. Coordinate a time and day to start volunteering. Our staff will be here to help with any questions.

5. Volunteer again

We love to see our volunteers coming back and bringing friends. Come back again and volunteer in the same area or try another area if you’d like.

 Volunteer FAQs

  • Volunteers should bring clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. Closed toe shoes are required.

    Farm volunteers: Water is available at the site, but thermoses are also recommended

    Drivers: Cars should have room to carry 10-15 banana boxes. A protective floor tarp is suggested in case of food spills & leakage. SUVs or trucks recommended

  • Come for an hour or help out all day, it’s entirely up to you, we just want you to have a positive experience helping us provide food to those in need in our community.

  • Marketplace and Back Office volunteers will work at 353 E. Johnson Hwy. Norristown, PA 19401

    Farm Volunteers will work at 1350 Pawlings Road, Audubon PA 19401.

  • Yes. For your first visit, no clearances are required. We want you to come and see what we do and make sure you enjoy it.

    If you choose to become a regular volunteer at Martha’s we will need you to complete three clearances:

    1. Child safety clearance

    2. Criminal background check

    3. FBI clearance for anyone who’s lived out of state over the past 10 years.

    We provide all volunteers with a step-by-step clearance how to process, and are more than happy to assist you in obtaining these clearances. If you already have these clearances, just provide copies via email or upon your arrival.
